Dated 5/20/03. I mentioned in a previous post that I was not satisfied with the lettering in the strip, and I wish I had tried harder to make it look good, but I am really pleased with how the lettering for Abstract Gator’s abstract speech bubbles turned out.
It was tons of fun to invent different kinds of squiggles to represent that weird language, and I think it is effective in conveying Abstract Gator’s difficulty in communicating with the others while at the same time suggesting that there IS some kind of system of signification.
