Dated 8/22/03. The capture of the Abstract Armada’s mother ship continues. We are entering another stretch of strips with pacing problems, and there are some persistent story problems as well. I never really made it clear what the plan is, or why Astro Gator and friends are attacking the Abstract Armada. Withholding information can generate suspense, but I think the only feeling I really generated was confusion. And it’s going to get a little worse until it gets better.
Still, it is exciting to see the new members of the crew, and we will get to see more of them in future strips.
